Chris Chiapparelli

I am a refugee from the restaurant business. I grew up in it, my family owns Chiapparelli’s Restaurant in Baltimore MD. I was educated in it, at Cornell Hotel School. And I worked in it for much of my teens, 20s and 30s. Including stints at some of the top restaurants in NY such as Restaurant Daniel, Le Bernardin, Café des Artistes and Montauk Yacht Club. My training consistently drove home one key point, if you don’t work hard to seek out the best products your food will never be great. I’ve since left the restaurant world but along the way I have made a lot of connections in the food world, including sources of top quality caviar. When the pandemic hit and we all retreated to our homes and started cooking most of our food, access to quality ingredients took on a new importance. Food became not only sustenance and experience, it was the very thing that kept us sane. Greenwich Caviar Company was born of the desire to bring the passion that I have for great culinary products to our friends and neighbors. I hope that what we do and the products that we sell bring you as much pleasure as it does us. In addition to Greenwich Caviar I am also the Owner and Wine Director of Horseneck Wine & Spirits, Greenwich CT’s oldest fine wine and spirits shop and Owner of Vanderbilt Wine Merchants in Brooklyn, NY named one of NYC’s Best Wine Stores. Through my work with the stores and my travels to wine regions around the world I’ve been very fortunate to gain access to some of the very best artisanal fine foods out there. Wine is best when enjoyed with friends, family, and food so it’s with great enthusiasm that I’m finally able to bring these unbelievable products to your doorstep to make your table at home that much more delicious.
